Role Description: Reporting into the Project Manager, the role of Project Engineer involves managing a number of engineering projects and delivering them to customer expectation on time to budget. The role will involve working directly with the customer to specify requirements and scope the projects, deal with design, sales, contracts, manufacturing and purchasing departments to ensure projects are of sound commercial sense, maximise the profit on each project delivered, to evaluate and communicate effectively the clients requirements and to project manage all departments involved in the projects and ensuring priority is given to ensure the objectives of the projects are met.
Personal Specification: You will be a minimum HNC qualified in Mechanical Engineering, As Project Engineer / Design Engineer you will have at least 3 years experience managing engineering design projects. Ideally having worked in the mechanical handling or capital equipment sectors. As Project Engineer will have a natural customer focus, the ability to project manage and design problem solve, be a good organiser, a strong planner and commercially astute. A background in design or strong product knowledge of fabrications. Machining or injection moulding would also be a distinct advantage.
