Our client are a market leading manufacturing business who are part of a successful multi-national business.

Role Description:

This key role within the business has 2 main responsibilities. Initially, the Production Manager will have full responsibility over a 24/7 production operation that has over 90 production operatives to ensure that KPI's in terms of productivity, safety and quality are achieved. The role also has responsibility for championing the lean deployment initiative across the business in conjunction with the Plant Manager. This crucial element of the role includes deploying kaizen events / 5S initiatives across all aspects of the business. The role will be directly involved in subsequent change management including education and staff training  / development as well as process auditing to ensure that best practise once implemented is  fully utilised and ultimately sustained.

Personal Specification:

The ideal candidate will be degree educated in an engineering / manufacturing related subject. The candidate must have significant exposure to successful lean implementation projects and have the capability to drive change across a business. In depth knowledge of  lean methodologies such as 5S and Kaizen are critical within this role. The ability to successfully manage a team of upto 90 production operatives to meet targets in terms of safety / quality / productivity is an prerequisite of the role. Candidates who have exposure to supplying into the automotive sector would be at a distinct advantage as would candidates who can demonstrate high levels of project management, presentation and influencing skills.
