Company: Our client is a multi-discipline design house to the Nuclear Industry.
Role Description: Reporting into the Principle Engineer, the role of Design Engineer involves analysing mechanical handling equipment. Using finite element methods, the role demands a close relationship with design engineers to advise on loads, strengths, structural responses and weight issues. The work will involve code checking using traditional hand calculation.
Personal Specification: You will have undertaken design analysis of components and assemblies and be able to demonstrate load paths in complex structures and components using MathCAD. Good working knowledge of hand calculations are essential - FEA experience would be advantage. Qualified to a minimum HND in a Mechanical discipline. You will have experience in the General Manufacturing, Nuclear or Aerospace sectors.
