Reporting into the Managing Director, the role of Research and Development Manager involves leading a small team in product research, specification, design and development of new and existing products in order to meet customer requirements and provide the business with a strong competitive advantage. Key focuses for this role will be to liaise with customers, suppliers and sales departments to gain market intelligence, to investigate new competitor products and work with your team to deliver product innovations which lead the market place in terms of technical capability, cost, quality and reliability.
Personal Specification:
Person
Degree qualified, you will be a Research and Development Manager / Design Manager with a background in developing new products in the large capital equipment, special purpose industries. As Research & Development Manager, you will have a strong innovative approach, have the ability to manage a team of mechanical and electrical design engineers to deliver competitive products to market which meet customer requirements.
