Role Description:
Reporting into the Asset Performance Manager, the role of Electrical Systems Engineer is responsible for providing design and technical advice covering all aspects of electrical and electronic work to achieve optimum efficiency and safety of plant, equipment and services. Key duties for this role include;
* Responsibility for all electrical and electronic control and distribution systems.
* Responsibility for all electrical and electronic control systems on behalf of the Machine Tool Build Department.
* Responsibility for supervision of electrical contractors and personnel.
* Responsibility for contact with external equipment suppliers to resolve all technical breakdowns/issues, including supervision/support of their personnel.
* Designing electrical /electronic control systems safety protective systems
* Producing CAD drawings and build instructions for electrical and control systems of new and upgraded plant for group.
* Programming of PLC controllers for new and upgraded plant for group.
* Programming of High level controllers/complex systems for new and upgraded plant for group.
* Designing, configuring and maintaining all aspects of plant IT connectivity.
* Maintaining existing SCADA system including upgrades/changes.
* Designing and programming hardware additions to SCADA system.
* Integrating Robot control systems to other equipment.
* Designing and coding Robot control programs.
* Verifying compliance with all relevant legislation with regard to machine control and safety protective systems of purchased plant.
* Maintaining site electrical services drawings and ensuring safe modifications/additions to the supply network on site.
* Providing technical support to Production Engineers with projects.
* Initiation of projects to upgrade controls/electrical equipment
* Keeping standards systems utilized in line with latest standards and HSE requirements at all times.
Personal Specification:
The ideal candidate will be time a served/HNC qualified Electrical/Electronics Engineer with a proven track record in a similar role. As Electrical Systems Engineer you will have previous experience designing Electrical and Control Systems using CAD and experience programming Mitsubishi PLC's. Other key requirements for this role is a clear understanding of Health and Safety requirements, broad experience of the installation and maintenance of plant and an appreciation of SCADA.
