Role Description:

Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining and continually improving quality strategies to ensure customer satisfaction is achieved and maintained at optimum cost. As Quality Engineer you will maintain and improve current quality assurance systems ensuring compliance with company procedures and be the point of contact with the customer for all quality related issues. The role will also involve implementing proactive process improvement activities using approved quality and lean manufacturing tools and techniques. Other focuses for this role will be to report corrective actions for non-conformances, ensure quality systems are kept updated and carry out auditing on both the product and the process. As Quality Engineer, you will also be responsible for supervising metallurgical laboratories and developing skills based training for employees such as SPC and FMEA.

Personal Specification:

The ideal candidate will be a Quality Engineer with a good understanding of Quality Management Systems, quality metrics and their implementation. You will preferably be qualified to Degree level in a relevant engineering discipline and have extensive experience in TS16949/ISO 9001. As Quality Engineer you will have experience within a high volume automotive environment and have an in-depth appreciation of manufacturing processes. Other focuses for this role is the ability to work to tight deadlines, excellent time management skills and a flexible response to the demands of the role. You will have a hands-on, can do, practical and dynamic approach and a strong understanding of problem solving methodologies and quality tools such as 8D, FMEA, 5Why's, SPC, Fishbone Diagram etc.
