I am writing to commend Kensington Consultants and namely your consultant Matthew Ackers. Having been made redundant in July 2009 from a Shift Managers job within the printing industry I had been marketing myself in an extremely competitive market. In February 2010 I approached Kensington Consultants as a preferred recruitment agency after they received a high commendation from a colleague of mine. Kensington was one of three agencies I engaged to network me and raise my profile amongst North West businesses.
This was the first time I had used recruitment agencies and found all three to be very professional. However Matthew demonstrated a professionalism that delivered a far more personal approach which I found extremely helpful. From our initial meeting it was clear Matthew had done his research on me and organisations that I would provide synergy with. Unlike the other agencies Matthew put together an action plan and an agreed time frame with regular updates. What impressed me most with Matthew was his sincerity and reliability in maintaining these regular updates and keeping me briefed on developments.
Within six weeks of our first meeting Matthew had introduced me to one of your clients Nitecrest and arranged an interview. This interview proved very fruitful and I was offered a choice of positions, either a Production Manager or Project Managers role. Unfortunately Nitecrest and I could not agree terms regardless of Matthews's best attempts at negotiating an amicable agreement. Throughout this period I continued to market myself and have been successful in securing a Shift Manager role with De La Rue through another agency.
During my eight months unemployment I have endured some very stressful months and have made approximately 320 job applications in that period. Through meeting Matthew and sensing his commitment to me and diligence to his clients he restored my self confidence that had taken quite a battering in the previous eight months. I feel that Matthews's conscientiousness should be brought to his manager's attention and acknowledged. I have thanked Matthew and would like to take this opportunity to thank Kensington Consultants whom I would highly recommend to colleagues and business alike.
