This Transfer Deadline Day we decided to do ‘Kensingtons does #TransferDeadlineDay.’ As a recruitment firm we drew similarities between transfer deadline day and the recruitment industry. Whether it’s from negotiating a deal, candidates being targeted for various roles, or clients having a ‘war chest’ to assemble a mega team. We shared a variety of content on our Twitter account on deadline day, from themed content, to the latest news within both the football and Kensington Consulting world.
What is transfer deadline day?
Transfer Deadline Day is globally known as the day the football transfer window closes. This year the summer transfer window closed on the 8th August. Often football clubs leave deals to the last minute, meaning that deadline day is action packed, with deals getting completed by the hour. Over the years the money involved in transfers has escalated to astronomical amounts, with Brazilian Neymar holding the record for the highest transfer fee, at a whopping £188m. That transfer has had huge ramifications on the whole of the football world, inflating player prices and resulting in each passing transfer deadline day being more action packed than the last.

Aside from our top tips, we also shared key happenings from the day at Kensington Consulting. From placements confirmed, to interviews arranged, we wanted to replicate the style of how football transfers are reported, putting a Kensingtons slant on things. See below some of our posts.
Of course we couldn’t help ourselves from sharing football rumours from the day as well, from medicals pencilled in, to fees being agreed. See if you recognise any of them.
