Job Description

My client is a leading global technology Group, with a clear strategy of becoming a global powerhouse in surface solutions, advanced materials and materials processing.

They are looking for a Business Development Manager for Additive Manufacturing (AM) in the defence industry. As part of the new AM Business Unit, you will report to the Global Head of Sales. You will be responsible for identifying customer and market opportunities for Additive Manufacturing Services within the defence industry, as well as developing action plans based on my clients capabilities and engaging customers to accomplish your sales objectives. This is a leadership position requiring deep experience and, importantly, a strong, established and extensive network in the defence industry.

 

Responsibilities

· Identifying market trends, demands and benefits of our AM services within the defence industry

· Engaging senior decision makers at key customers and preparing a sales approach that meets the objectives of multiple stakeholders within the customers organisation

· Building trusted partner relationships that drive long-term sales from a solution-based sales standpoint

· Driving and ensuring global alignment and continuous improvement of the service provided to the customers

· Developing targeted competition and market analysis

· Leverage technical experience from the defence industry to accomplish your objectives

 

We expect

· University degree in manufacturing technology or other technical/engineering degree

· Further education in business administration would be a strong positive

· Significant (10+ years’) experience in the defence industry, in either a technical or commercial role, preferably both

· Experience in Sales or Business Development to an OEM in the defence industry as a direct supplier of components

· Comfortable in a start-up environment with an entrepreneurial mind set

· Experience in Additive Manufacturing or a components engineering service provider would be a plus

· Self-driven, open and positive mind set with experience in an international and cross-cultural business environment

· Flexible to travel internationally

· Fluent in English; other languages would be beneficial
