Reporting into the Engineering Manager, the role of Electrical Engineer involves the design and specification of electrical components and systems for nuclear buildings services. The key responsibilities for this role will include liaison internally with Sales, Contracts and Production departments and external liaison with customers / suppliers to ensure key customer contract milestones are achieved. Further responsibilities will be to work with your team (Design Draftsmen / Control Systems Engineer) in the preparation of AC motors and drive system specifications, machine wiring diagrams and the generation of system protocols, designing schematics, performing calculations and producing drawings.
You’ll work within a multi-disciplined team, producing designs for engineering projects. You’ll also need to create technical reports and documents to accompany designs, providing project justification and analysis. Also, you’ll be responsible for undertaking the designs of equipment, working across a number of engineering areas.
You’ll be educated in ONC / HNC / HND or degree qualified in Electrical Engineering. You’ll also have a good working knowledge of designing electrical systems. There will be tight deadlines, so you’ll be able to work to multiple timeframes. Also, you’ll have a base knowledge of AutoCAD, as well as PLC & SCADA systems.
