Job Title: Group Sales Manager (GSM)
Location: Leicestershire 
Salary: £50k + 25% Bonus 

A bespoke manufacturer that supplies plastic shims to multiple industries is hiring a Group Sales Manager, who will be responsible for the effective and efficient running of all sales activities, to develop and support the growth of the business through a high-performing team that delivers sales growth and consistent levels of high profitability. 

Managing and improving the day-to-day sales activities to ensure growth with existing and new customer accounts, will be a key aspect of the role. 

Other duties include: 

  • Be the first point of contact on all matters relating to the sales process. 

  • Work directly with department heads and managers to help further develop and ensure world-class customer service for all customers. 

  • Defining and instituting policies and procedures; researching new and alternative methods of sales. 

  • Working with the senior management team to set and review budgets and managing margins and sales targets. 

  • Creating and developing clear training and development plans for all sales team members. 

  • Review customer's spend profiles and proactively pursue new opportunities and sales. 

  • Analyse previous sales data to identify opportunities for repeat business sales. 

  • Proactively contact past customers to make them aware of quality and service improvements with the objective of obtaining the opportunity to resupply past customers. 

  • Maintain own client base to retain practical sales experience and direct customer contact. 

  • Contribute to the department's business plan, in consultation with the Managing Director. 

  • Agree on timebound objectives and financial targets. 

  • Professional day to day management of the sales team and after-sales team activities 

  • Create and publish clear, prescribed, and harmonised procedures, to ensure consistency of sales practice and administration. Ensure that staff has full technical and practical knowledge of the Company's current products and services  

  • Assist sales team in the presentation of proposals and quotes to prospective clients as required. 

  • Conduct regular, 1 to 1 improvement interviews as required with the team members as part of the performance management procedures. 

Key Responsibilities 

The Group Sales Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating the daily Sales activities of the group companies: 

  • Responsible for the delivery of the company’s sales goals, assuring the attainment of business objectives and sales targets. 

  • Responsible for improving and developing the sales team members to maximize opportunities to support the company’s growth plans. 

  • Manage local and offsite sales account managers to ensure coordinated sales activities across the group. 

  • Work together with QHSE to assess, evaluate, implement and review all relevant processes regarding hygiene and safety in the workplace and environmental protection. 

  • Negotiate raw material pricing and delivery terms to maximise profit and reduce lead times. 

  • Conduct monthly employee performance reviews and foster a well-trained and motivated staff.
