Salary: £55,000 - £60,000
Pre-requisites: Formally recognised H&S qualification essential, preferably NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent - experience within engineering / manufacturing sector essential.
Reporting into the company’s Plant Manager, the role of HSE Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining the Health & Safety Environmental (ISO 45001) Management Systems. Other aspects of this position will include:
Lead the HSE Strategy, Developing the companies Health & Safety / Environmental policy statements and carrying out risk assessments, accident investigations and safety audits.
Advise the company on any environmental and health & safety issues on an ongoing basis and develop / review procedures and work instructions to ensure that HSE requirements are considered.
Making changes to the company to help improve near misses.
Chairing the companies Health & Safety Committee meetings.
Provision of Health & Safety Training Programs to promote awareness and best practice with regard to health and safety.
The HSE Manager will be responsible for setting Health & Safety objectives and targets and measuring and monitoring these.
As a NEBOSH diploma qualified HSE Manager you will have a background in HSE management within the manufacturing sector ideally automotive or a high volume manufacturing environment.
• Experience of ISO 45001 standard
• Experience of Health & Safety auditing
• Experience of developing management systems
• Broad knowledge of all EHS issues is essential, as is previous experience liaising with HSE and other relevant regulatory bodies.
The successful candidate will be required to undertake risk assessments and safety audits in a factory environment and will be working closely with the Site Managers and the Engineering Manager.
