What a better way to turn things around than by this latest job vacancy for not one, but two Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineers. Forget those night shifts too, as you will be working days only.

A manufacturer of aftermarket automotive components are hiring two Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineers to join their team, with a 50/50 split of electrical and mechanical knowledge.

You will need to have a familiarity of PLC’s and how to conduct root cause analysis, as well as a knowledge of programming. It is also important to assess the need for spare parts and be conversant in planned and preventative maintenance.

In essence, the role is working with older equipment and upgrading new systems too. A refurbishment will also be an essential part of the job.

The company specialises in manufacturing, maintaining and renewing specialised machines used for the manufacture of automotive components, which fully supports and maintains their core business as well as the much newer Aerosol and Liquids filling business.

Their machines are used by leading brand manufacturers building parts for the OE market and the automotive aftermarket across the globe. The manufacturing and service centre is based in a purpose-built facility in the Midlands from where they manufacture, service, and rebuild and support hundreds of individual machines offering service, support and re-manufacture. Also, developing tooling and work-holding solutions such as bespoke automated or semi-automated mandrels, jig and fixtures systems.

You will need to be time-served or have an equivalent qualification, with experience of both pneumatics and hydraulics. Also, a familiarity with CNC machines and PLC controlled equipment is essential.

Other requirements include:

  • Previous experience of working towards improving and maintaining quality standards
  • Familiar with all types of Factory equipment and associated plant
  • Able to work on own initiative
  • Able to problem solve in high production based environment
  • Able to play a key role in the continuing improvement of the factory equipment and maintenance
  • Safe handling materials

The two-day shifts are:

  • Early – 5:30am to 1:30pm Mon – Thurs (Fri 12pm finish)
  • Late - 2pm to 10pm Mon –Thurs (Fri 12:30pm to 7pm)
