My client is a growing manufacturing business in North Wales and is now looking to recruit a new Operations Manager to take full responsibility for the running of the company's manufacturing activities.
Reporting into the Group Operations Director, the Operations Manager will take responsibility for all manufacturing functions including, production/capacity planning, workshop layout, shop floor organisation and personnel management / development.
As Operations Manager, you will be required to devise and implement systems to improve the production process in terms of speed, quality and cost.
To achieve this you will need to expand the company's current Continuous Improvement plan using lean manufacturing techniques (such as 5S, SMED, OEE and TPM) and training staff in the correct application of these tools.
The ideal candidate will be qualified to minimum HND level in an engineering discipline but, more importantly, will have a proven track record in leading manufacturing operations within a manufacturing environment, ideally an automotive style operation.
A strong, hands-on, manager with excellent people skills, you will also be responsible for developing the operational staff, assessing training needs and developing a multi-skilled workforce.
Other focuses for this role are the ability to work to tight deadlines, to influence others and have a flexible response to the demands of the role.
