Role: Plant Buyer / Purchasing Manager
Salary: Up to £47,000 plus benefits such as healthcare
An automotive company that is a leading global supplier of automotive components and systems are experiencing global growth, and they need a Plant Buyer/Purchasing Manager to join their expanding enterprise.
As a senior purchasing professional on-site, you will report to the Plant Manager, as well as the Group Purchasing Manager. You will get involved with managing a selection of suppliers and sub-contractors in line with KPIs to drive improvement in quality, cost, and delivery.
As a senior buyer, you will manage an indirect spend of circa £60M including, energy, PPE, consumables, etc. Some of the spends are procured through directed supply so managing the supplier relationships are important.
There will, of course, be some challenges in this role (what is success without challenges?) and these will be focusing on cost savings and negotiating with suppliers on cost and improving SLAs.
Other integral aspects of this role include; establishing long-term agreements, supplier performance metrics and to rationalise the supplier base whilst ensuring the development of the internal purchasing procedures.
To qualify for this position you will be CIPS qualified. And, as a Senior Buyer/Purchasing manager you will have a background in purchasing and expediting with indirect spend.
You will need strong negotiation, communication, and commercial skills, as these are pre-requisites for this role.
