Polymer Application Engineer
Location: Northamptonshire
Salary: £30k per annum
Reports to: Operations Manager
An advanced manufacturing company that is supplying high-end quality metal and polymer additive manufacturing production parts, is hiring a Metal Applications Engineer.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of customer data for printing. This may include minor/major fixing and post-processing considerations.
- Setting up of builds to a strict schedule using relevant 3D printing software, ensuring lead times are competitive and vigorously met.
- Support the sales team with technical inquiries. (When required)
- Production and management of company standard polymer materials for use in AM machines
- Quality check of polymer materials to company standards
- Creating process Local Work Instructions and providing training to staff as necessary.
- Help with troubleshooting in event of equipment breakdown.
- Complete maintenance tasks as outlined in the schedule with due care and attention.
- Liaise with operations manager to schedule AM machine maintenance tasks.
- Make recommendations for improvements on equipment and processes.
Experience & Qualifications:
Currently working towards or have already achieved a 2:1 within one of the following subjects.
- Product design
- Industrial design
- HNC in Engineering or above
Additional:
- A strong passion for additive manufacturing & new technologies is desired, demonstrable by either personal projects or prior work experience.
- Have a good understanding of materials and manufacturing processes.
- You will be technically minded with a keen eye for detail
- Competent within MS Office
- Impeccable time management and highly organised
- Understand the importance of KPI-driven performances
- Able to adhere to routine procedures and can take full responsibility for your own actions
- Are an ambitious individual, able to think outside the box and provide process improvement input
- A team player with great social and communication skills
