Reporting into the Operations Manager, the Production Manager will take responsibility for all shop floor functions including production / capacity planning, workshop layout, shop floor organisation and personnel development.
As Production Manager, you will take full ownership of the company?s manufacturing strategy, devising and implementing systems to improve the production process in terms of speed, quality and cost.
To achieve this, you will be required to implement a Continuous Improvement ethos within the company using lean manufacturing techniques and training staff in the correct application of these tools.
The ideal candidate will be qualified to minimum HND level in a manufacturing discipline but, more importantly, will have a proven track record in leading manufacturing operations.
A strong, hands-on, manager with excellent people skills, you will also be responsible for developing the operational staff, assessing training needs and developing a multi-skilled workforce.
Other focuses for this role are the ability to work to tight deadlines, to influence others and have a flexible response to the demands of the role.
