Managing production is easy.
(Said no-one, ever)
Although it is easier if the production system is highly refined, automated, has constant levels of demand and never breaks down.
But when would that ever happen and how dull would it be as the Production Manager of that operation?
Can you imagine the morning production meeting?
"What's the plan today?"
"Exactly the same as yesterday."
"Shall we make anything better?"
"Everyone crack on then."

As an experienced Production Manager you'll be looking for more of a challenge than that won't you?
Well, be careful what you wish for because I may well have uncovered that challenge.
Let's start with 5S. You'll have to, because they haven't yet.
In fact, let's not go any further because that in itself should tell you the scale of the challenge. The fact that they are trying to double their output and are building new facilities on site, should also tell you that they are serious about making the improvements to their production system.
Which they need you to come in and lead.
If you're looking to really make a mark on a very well established and growing business, then this could be a truly great opportunity for you.
Possibly coming from a food, plastics or chemicals background, you'll be used to high-volume manufacture and implementing a continuous improvement ethos at grass-roots level. You'll need to guide, mentor and coach the production team (ideally without using any Japanese language, at first anyway) and really change the culture to raise the engagement with the shop floor.
Imagine how different your production meetings will be from the example above?
There's plenty more detail to go through on this role so please don't worry if your CV isn't up to date and just get in touch with me to discuss on 01257 244740.
