You've probably seen posters in factories saying something like "Quality is King", and it's true. But, if quality is king then I'd say "Structure is Queen".

As a quality engineer from the automotive or aerospace manufacturing industries, you'll know a thing or two about structure. You'll know that for a company to grow, it needs the right structure in place for its quality systems.

This role is based in a company who are growing and need to improve their quality procedures. They're a well-established business who supply different machines into different industries in different countries all with different quality standards to comply with.

They now need someone like you to come in and formalise their systems. You'll need to work closely with the shop floor staff to understand how things are done then write and deploy Standard Operating Procedures across the business.

Drawing on your experience, you'll also need to research different quality standards and be able to turn them into SOPs for the operations team. You'll also need to educate and train staff in how to use the procedures correctly.

A Six Sigma qualification would be useful as a structured approach to problem solving and root-cause analysis will definitely be required.
