"Quality is not an act. It's a habit."
Apparently Aristotle said that and he knew a thing or two about that sort of thing. However, he also said things like "The whole is more than the sum of its parts" and "It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it" which probably made him quite hard work to be around socially. You don't need that kind of deep thought when you're trying to relax over a pint. But I digress.
Exactly what an ancient Greek philosopher could add to a modern-day, precision CNC machining business is less clear, however, he makes a good point to start from.
Quality is indeed habitual and the client I'm recruiting this Quality Engineer position for is focused heavily on changing the culture of the business to incorporate this philosophy.
This is where you come in.
As an experienced Quality Engineer, you may have worked in the automotive or aerospace sectors but you will certainly know about building quality into each part of the production process. With a good knowledge of quality tools like FMEA, APQP, gauge R&R, control planning, SPC and data analysis you will need to be able to demonstrate a track record in working closely with the shop floor to educate and teach others how to make quality a habit rather than a chore.
Given their product range, my client's preference is for candidates with knowledge of precision CNC machining but if you feel your experience is close enough then please feel free to speak to me about this role anyway as your transferrable skills could well be of interest.
