Job Title: Quality Systems Engineer

What do you think? As someone with experience in a Quality function, you’ll know that quality takes time and effort, such as maintenance of internal procedures, deployment of quality policy, and promoting continuous improvement to ensure that quality is met.
A Rochdale based company specialising in the automotive and aerospace sectors, are looking for someone to cover 12-month maternity leave with the potential of this position transitioning to a full-time permanent role if you demonstrate a good ability and progress.
Your overall responsibilities will include:
- Assist the implementation of annual plans, long term vision and goals
- Deployment of Quality Policy to meet customer and regulatory needs
- Development of systems to minimise the cost of quality and non-quality through the use of, for example; continual improvement and KPIs
- Acts as a management representative in all matters of quality assurance
- Monitor delivery against KPI and long term vision
- Reporting effectiveness and improvement plans at all levels
- Delivery of best practice company culture: continual improvement
- Communicate externally with customers, suppliers, and accreditation bodies
- Minimising delays within production through waste reduction at key quality stages
- To ensure that the quality of products and processes are monitored in order to gain excellent quality
- To translate the requirements of the customer into process checks to ensure that the customer requirements are met
- To carry out root cause analysis on concerns whether external or internal and ensuring that root cause analysis is achieved by the use of PDCA, FTA
- Responsible for ensuring requirements of quality systems ISO9001/IATF16949/AS9100 are met.
- To carry out core tools activity including PPAP/MSA/8D
- To participate in contract review, APQP, NPI process
- To execute an internal system, process, and product audit so liaise with third-party certification bodies to plan and organise external audits on-site
You will need:
- Two years’ experience in the same field of work
- Technical understanding of production processes
- Has KPI or Lean experience
- Excellent oral communication skills can put across ideas and opinions to others in a clear and precise way
- Leadership skills to give direction to a group and create and maintain cooperation to achieve a set of goals. Enabling everyone to contribute and create a good base for successful team working
