Job Description

Quality Technician

Location: Northamptonshire

Salary: £30k per annum

Reports to: Operations Manager

An advanced manufacturing company that is supplying high-end quality metal and polymer additive manufacturing production parts, is hiring a Quality Technician.

Main Duties:

  • Production Quality Support
  • Creating standard and bespoke inspection documents and reports 
  • Inspection and testing materials, components, and assemblies.
  • Support to address internal NCRs.
  • Customer Quality Management.
  • Processing Concessions.
  • Assisting with complaint management, customer audits completing NCRs and 8D. reports, interfacing with customers when required.
  • Customer supplier item control.
  • Supplier Quality Management.
  • Processing concessions, SCARs, and follow-up of supplier quality issues.
  • Performing supplier audits.
  • Assisting with activities to manage skills competencies and training.
  • Participate in quality training activities.
  • Manage authorisation levels and approval stamps.
  • Assist with control of calibrations item.
  • Supporting product and process monitoring and improvement activities.
  • Participating in CA and CI projects.
  • Carrying out internal audits (inc. surveillance).
  • Documentation support (e.g. with procedures and local work instructions).

  • Excellent at prioritising urgent tasks.
  • Be proactive, enthusiastic, and able to self-manage.

Qualifications:

HNC/HND (or equivalent) in a technical or science discipline.

Skills:

  • Able to analyse and interpret complex data, and to solve problems.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experienced in using general and specialist inspection and measurement equipment.
  • Creating and completing Inspection Reports (Production and First Article etc.)

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a relevant industry.
  • Experience in 3D printing technologies and CMM would be an advantage.
  • Understanding machining, fitting, and general engineering are essential.
