Job Description

Supplier Quality Engineer
Bolton
to £40k

Someone once said to me "In the world of Quality two factors are often considered, those that merely satisfy and those that delight."

I was never sure if that was one of his own phrases or if he'd recently had an upmarket Chinese meal with oddly specific fortune cookies, but either way it's a phrase that's stayed with me for many years.

Currently, my client falls into the category of those who satisfy their customers but have the ambition to become one who delights them with their approach to manufacturing quality systems and overall quality of product supplied. They are a long established business who have developed their excellent reputation through their commitment to delivering a high quality product within a relatively niche industry so this is a great time for you to join the business.

Although part of a larger global group their quality function is managed locally at the site and they have previously implemented quality systems in line with their products and operating style. However, they recognise there is a lot more work to do to elevate themselves to "World Class" status.

This is where you come in.

As someone with a strong background in manufacturing quality you'll have gained experience in working with and improving your company's ISO9001:2015 management systems as a bare minimum. You'll know how to write procedures and have knowledge of document control and internal/external auditing.

With experience of Supplier Quality you'll also know how to work with suppliers to close out corrective actions and also find the root cause of non-conformances.

If you've worked in aerospace you could be well versed in the AS9100 standard or if you've worked in automotive you'll know how the TS16949 standards are applied.

However, if you're currently working in these industries you may feel you're a small fish in a big pond and are looking to become a more visible player where you can have a direct input into a company's systems and become a key part of their future success.

Wherever you're currently working, an ability and desire to change the status-quo and a strong, team working ethos will stand you in good stead as my client is focussed heavily on continuously improving both their workforce and offering to the marketplace.

If you'd like to discuss this opportunity further then please contact me directly and don't worry if your CV isn't up to date as I'd welcome a chat with you on 01257 244740.
